‘I strangled her boast by hubby in pub’
A HUSBAND almost got away with strangling his wife but boasted in a pub to a colleague that he had done it, a court heard.
Derek Potter, 64, killed Lesley, 66, with his hands at their home then made it look like she had hanged herself, the jury was told.
A paramedic said it was unusual the body was naked and Potter was “not in a lot of grief ” but he was not suspicious.
Just days before Mrs Potter’s body was due to be cremated Potter confessed to a colleague and asked her to move in with him.
Swansea crown court was told: “He told her he loved his wife, but she was ‘doing his head in’ and he had to strangle her.”
Potter, of Mumbles, Swansea, denies murder.
The trial continues.
