Coral’s odds for who will be the next actor to play James Bond make for interesting reading. Bodyguard star Richard Madden is favourite at 5-4. Idris Elba, Tom Hiddleston and Tom Hardy are among the other runners and riders. But what stood out for me was the “any female actor, 16-1”. How lazy and insulting that they couldn’t even think of a single female who could be a contender, no matter how distant. I could think of a long list, starting with the talented and versatile Thandie Newton.
