Drill for king on WWII ship
A RETIRED Second World War cruiser will today be used to show off the Royal Navy’s military prowess to the Dutch king.
HMS Belfast, an 80-yearold warship moored on the Thames since 1971, will be at the centre of a display by Royal Marines and their Dutch counterparts.
King Willem-Alexander will watch the drill before meeting Theresa May.
Colonel Simon Scott of the Royal Marines said: “It will be a short, sharp demonstration of joint amphibious capability.”
