Do you have recipe for going national?

-

DEAR BIZ

I began my Travelling Cupcake business in 2013, selling my cake creations on a small market stall. After gaining some regulars I then set up a pop-up store on the high street.

Now things have grown and, after gaining some funding via Worldpay, I have two premises – Travelling Cupcakes and Lucy’s Kitchen, in Andover, Hampshire.

We make all sorts of cakes, including wedding cakes, and we offer diary-free and vegan

You are an excellent role model for upcoming businesses as you have done all the right things by starting small and gradually expanding. Progressing to a nationwide delivery service is good but you will need to carefully consider the fragility of your creations and how you will deliver them safely.

There are cupcake services in many cities and here at the Daily Mirror we have had deliveries of stunning creations arrive upside down and splattered, which is rather disappointing.

We believe perfect packaging and a reliable and exacting delivery service will be the two key elements to your expansion.
