Alfie’s scarf record goal
A DAD and his poorly son aim to set a record for the longest football scarf at one and a half miles.
Alfie Lund, 10, cannot walk or talk because of a genetic disorder MECP2 duplication syndrome.
His family spent four years sewing 1,700 scarves to raise awareness.
Dad Mark, 48, of Burscough, Lancs, said: “It would take 10 minutes to run from start to finish.”
Their record attempt will be checked next year.
