Mum’s voice is best alarm
Ronaldo and ex boss re-United at Old Trafford
SMOKE alarms that use a mother’s voice are three times more likely to wake children than a high-pitch tone, researchers found.
But including the child’s name doesn’t help.
Experts at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Ohio said children have a much deeper sleep than adults and are harder to wake.
Professor Gary Smith said: “These findings put us a step closer to finding an alarm that will be effective for children and practical for parents.” THEY first met 15 years ago – but the bond between Sir Alex Ferguson and Cristiano Ronaldo is as strong as ever.
The pair posed together after the ex-Manchester United winger helped Juventus beat his old club.
Their smiles at Old Trafford on Tuesday recalled 2003, when United’s former manager signed the then 18-year-old wonderkid.
Ronaldo, 33, was anxious to see his mentor, 76 – recovering after a near-fatal brain haemorrhage.
He tweeted beside the snap: “A great coach and wonderful man.”
