£1.2bn is won on US lottery
ONE ticket-holder has won the world’s biggest single lottery prize of £1.2billion – but their identity may never be revealed.
The US MegaMillions jackpot winner is from South Carolina, one of only eight states where lotto anonymity is permitted.
The prize amounts to a $1.537billion annuity option, paid over 29 years.
But big winners usually opt for cash, which for this three-month rollover is $913million (£706million).
The draw made 36 other people instant millionaires.
