Presenter had been single for a year
TV PRESENTER Melinda Messenger has found love on a celebrity edition of First Dates.
The former glamour girl, 47, was paired with Chris Harding on the Stand Up To Cancer special of the Channel 4 show. The couple, whose date will be screened in tonight’s episode, have now been together for three months.
Mother-of-three Melinda explained: “I had never given up hope of finding love but I stopped looking for it.
“I thought I am fine as I am and I am happy as I am and when it happens then I am happy. It’s only when I got to that point then sure enough, it happened.”
Chris, who runs a pop-up coffee shop, shared a photo of the loved-up couple at a posh ball on Instagram on Friday and Melinda wrote: “I love this one.”
A source Melinda & ex Wayne Melinda in 1997 close to the couple said Melinda was surprised to find romance on First Dates.
They added: “She is just going with the flow for now and waiting to see what happens. They both share the same kind of sense of humour and they seem really happy together when they go out.”
Melinda has been single since she announced her split from Warren Smith, her ski coach on Channel 4 show The Jump, after five years last November.
She was previously married for 14 years to Wayne Roberts, the dad of her children Morgan, 18, Flynn, 16, and Evie, 15, but they broke up in 2012.
Cowboy Builders host Melinda, who recently appeared in ITV’s Our Shirley Valentine Summer, also revealed she is not bothered about getting older.
She said: “It is awesome and it is like stripping off layers and getting more of your true self.
It feels liberating not to worry about this, that and the other. I feel more virile and more comfortable in
myself than I’ve ever felt.”
