Respect for war heroes

■ I was appalled to note the Liverpool v Fulham Premier League game is scheduled for noon on Sunday, November 11.

Inevitably fans will be travelling at 11am when surely many would wish to be paying their respects to those who sacrificed all in war?

This is particularly thoughtless on the centenary of the Armistice. They ought to rearrange this fixture. Fern Hodges Rugby, Warks

■ I am saddened by the BBC’s mere half-an-hour daily coverage of the Invictus Games. This event features some of the bravest ex-service men and women who have overcome the most dreadful injuries.

Surely, what they have endured deserves more acknowledgement.

Shame on you, BBC – it seems EastEnders is far more important!
