CALLUM TWO GOOD FOR BATTLING BEES
CALLUM ROBINSON’S brilliant brace helped Preston heap more misery on Brentford.
A fifth-minute strike from Alan Browne, Robinson’s first and a lucky Tom Barkhuizen finish did the early damage.
But the Bees rolled their sleeves up and fought back brilliantly to make it 3-2 thanks to a 30-yard beauty from Sergi Canos and Ollie Watkins’ deflected effort.
Their comeback shuddered to a halt after 70 minutes when Robinson (above) found himself unmarked in the area and clipped home to make it 4-2.
Neal Maupay made life interesting as he grabbed a close-range volley to narrow the gap once more but Preston managed to hang on.
The home side had looked like relegation fodder just a month ago but have picked up in recent weeks, with this victory giving them valuable breathing space over the bottom three.
