HEAD BOY FAM LIFTS ROBINS

-

FAMARA DIEDHIOU headed a stoppage-time winner to nudge Bristol City towards the play-off places.

Hull keeper David Marshall had repelled all the Robins could throw at him and parried a shot from sub Matty Taylor at the start of seven minutes of added time.

But the ball fell kindly for Diedhiou (above) to nod in the rebound from 10 yards and steal all three points.

It had looked as if the struggling Tigers would nick a vital point. Josh Brownhill had smacked the foot of a post for the Robins on 39 minutes from 20 yards.

And Marshall made a stunning save at full stretch to keep out a deflected shot from Tomas Kalas on 61 minutes.

Hull had their best chance in the opening stages, but Kamil Grosicki’s close-range effort was brilliantly saved on his line by young Robins keeper Max O’Leary.
