gave a fervent on-air rant this month when reports said Teesside delicacy the Parmo, left, could be banned over obesity fears. She now refers to the incident as “Parmogeddon”.

“Who knew I would do such a passionate speech about something which is essentially cheesy chicken?” she asks. “As a proud Middlesbrough lass, this is my world.”
