Jobs fear at Debenhams
UP to 4,000 Debenhams workers were left fearing for their jobs after the struggling retailer announced 50 store closures.
Bosses confirmed plans to shut nearly one in five branches within five years.
But the firm was blasted for not telling workers which shops were at risk.
Dave Gill, national officer at shopworkers’ union Usdaw, said: “This is devastating news for staff, uncertainty now hangs over every Debenhams store and its employees.”
