Complaints soar over train chaos
PASSENGER complaints have rocketed since disastrous new rail timetables were introduced in May.
On Northern, where cancellations hit 310 a day, they were up 63% from April to June compared to last year.
And Govia Thameslink, with up to 470 cancellations a day, received 23% more complaints.
Labour want a fare freeze and railways taken back into public ownership. Shadow Transport Secretary Andy McDonald said: “It’s clear the Government is incapable of delivering reliable services.”
The Office of Rail and Road, investigating the timetable chaos, has told of “lack of clarity about responsibilities” and said “nobody took charge”.
