Dive into the feel-good waters of this very British comedy, which sees comic actor Rob Brydon playing an accountant suffering a midlife crisis.

Abandoning his family for a synchronised swimming team of middle-aged men, they’re a likeable and charming team of no-hopers who find themselves unexpectedly competing against the greatest in the world championships.

Best in show is Charlotte Riley as the team’s instructor, whose sweary, no-nonsense drill sergeant manner is all the more ferocious for using her native Teesside accent, and swept me away on a tide of nostalgia back to my courting days in Middlesbrough.
