It’s a chore that most of us dread, but ironing could be a thing of the past thanks to Philips’ new handheld steamer.

The Steam & Go can be used vertically and horizontally, making it perfect for eliminating stubborn wrinkles in a range of items, including clothes or tablecloths.

The steamer features a SmartFlow heated plate which helps to press the fabric while steaming horizontally.

Thankfully, this heat is regulated, meaning the plate is safe for all fabrics and prevents wet spots.

I put the steamer to the test on a thick winter jacket, using the brush attachment.

This really helped to open the fabric fibres and enables better steam penetration, meaning my jacket was no challenge for the steamer. Best of all, the steamer also removes odours and kills 99.99% of bacteria – saving you the time and money of having to lug your clothes to the dry cleaners!
