Prison drone squad jailed

SEVEN members of a gang that used drones to airlift £500,000 of drugs into prisons have been given jail terms of three to 10 years.

Six others got suspended sentences for their part in the “sophisticated commercial operation”.

All 13 were convicted of conspiracy charges at Birmingham crown court.

The gang made around 100 deliveries of drugs, phones and Sim cards to seven jails. Police seized 11 drones, including some that had crashed.
