Cheese snack ‘can shed lbs’

EATING two tablespoon­s of cottage cheese before sleep can help shed pounds, a study found.

The snack is rich in slow-release protein casein that builds muscle and also boosts metabolic rate, said scientists.

A Florida State University team tested to see if solid food had the same effect as protein drinks.

Prof Michael Ormsbee said of the findings: “It gives people options for pre-sleep nutrition beyond [protein] powders.”
