$10,000 Trump portrait making America grate

Hilarity in a New York court this week as Donald Trump’s charitable foundation stood accused of spending money on the rich not the needy.

It was revealed that Trump trustees spent a whopping $10,000 – £7,800 – on an oil painting of, you’ve guessed it, Donnie himself.

Lawyer Alan Futerfas, for the foundation, told the packed courtroom that when the President’s personal charitable foundation placed the bid at an auction, it was only intended to “get the bidding started”.

“No one else bid,” Futerfas said, adding that the foundation was then “stuck with the painting”.
