GALE NEEDS A SECOND WIND

- BY JAMES NURSEY

WEST BROM boss Darren Moore is reluctant to risk his top scorer Dwight Gayle today.

The striker has eight goals after his summer loan from Newcastle. But Gayle (above) was subbed at the break with a calf injury in the relegated side’s 4-1 home defeat by Derby in midweek.

Ahead of today’s visit by Blackburn, Moore said: “Dwight tried to run it off, but he couldn’t carry on in the second half. So he’s a doubt.

“You can’t take risks in this league, the games come so thick and fast. You’re better off taking him out for one game than having him out for the next four.”
