The finale of Bodyguard drew 17.1 million viewers across all platforms – a record for a single drama episode on British TV. Not that the BBC honchos should feel too smug about it. Because, if our house is anything to go by, most of those viewers tuned in to see something, anything, to convince them there was a single reason to watch after Keeley Hawes had been bumped off. And concluded there wasn’t.
