Boro defender Ryan Shotton is out with a knee injury. Paddy McNair is likely to replace him.

Derby boss Frank Lampard is expected to choose from an unchanged squad after his side’s impressive 4-1 win at West Brom in midweek.

BOLTON v HULL CITY

Bolton defender Pawel Olkowski (bug) is hoping to return. Midfielder Gary O’Neil (calf) will be assessed.

Hull check on central defenders Reece Burke (hip) and Jordy de Wijs (head). Robbie McKenzie could be in contention for his first league start.

MILLWALL v IPSWICH TOWN

Veteran Millwall forward Steve Morison is in contention for a start. Defender Shaun Hutchinson (knee) could also feature.

Ipswich caretaker Bryan Klug, in charge for one game, may recall Gwion Edwards, Grant Ward and Trevoh Chalobah.

PRESTON v ROTHERHAM

Tom Clarke (groin) is Preston’s only new injury concern. Josh Harrop and Billy Bodin (both knee) remain out.

Rotherham could welcome back Billy Jones (hamstring) and Jon Taylor (knee). Richard Wood (calf) is also fit.

SWANSEA v READING

Swansea boss Graham Potter has no fresh injury worries. Jefferson Montero (thigh) is closing in on a comeback.

Reading boss Paul Clement must weigh up whether to restore fit-again Sam Baldock and Garath McCleary to his starting line-up.

LEEDS v NOTTINGHAM FOREST (5.30pm)

Pontus Jansson may return for Leeds after a ban, but fellow defender Gaetano Berardi (hamstring) has been ruled out.

Forest boss Aitor Karanka must decide whether to stick with the side that won 3-0 at Bolton in midweek.

BIRMINGHAM v SHEFF WED

Jacques Maghoma is a doubt with an ankle injury for Blues. Isaac Vassell (knee) and David Davis (ankle) remain long-term absentees.

Gary Hooper (groin) and Kieran Lee (knee) are unlikely to return for Wednesday.

BRISTOL CITY v STOKE CITY

Bristol continue to monitor Nathan Baker (head). Lloyd Kelly could return while fellow defenders Bailey Wright and Eros Pisano are expected to be sidelined.

Sam Clucas (knee) is closing in on a Stoke debut following his summer move from Swansea.

NORWICH v BRENTFORD

Norwich will be without Louis Thompson (shoulder) and Teemu Pukki (hamstring). Tom Trybull (toe) and Max Aarons are expected to play.

Brentford have Chris Mepham back after his ban. But Julian Jeanvier (foot) is doubtful.

SHEFFIELD UTD v WIGAN

United boss Chris Wilder has fitness doubts, but declined to name the injured players. Wigan are without suspended Darron Gibson. Another midfielder, Lee Evans, is ineligible as he is on loan from the Blades. Callum McManaman is hoping to start.

WEST BROM v BLACKBURN

Jake Livermore (below) returns for West Brom. Dwight Gayle (calf) is a major doubt, as is Kieran Gibbs.

Blackburn will assess Darragh Lenihan (hip). Danny Graham has a bad back, while summer signing Jacob Davenport is close to his club debut.
