CHOCOLATE can improve blood pressure and cholestero­l, says a study.

Multiple studies have shown that eating flavanols and procyanidi­ns daily is helpful.

But eating both together – as in cocoa – gave the most benefit and also reduced stiffness in arteries, said research by the University of Surrey.

Professor Christian Heiss added: “It is critical to understand how much of these compounds people should be consuming.”
