Bake Off finalists ‘the calmest in history’
PAUL Hollywood has said that tomorrow’s Bake Off final was the most relaxing he has ever filmed.
Judge Paul, 52, said: “It was the most relaxing final this year, in fact it was quite calm.
“It’s down to the characters in the tent. It’s nothing to do with us judges, it’s to do with the bakers.” This week’s final sees Hollywood and Prue Leith set three challenges that will test every aspect of the bakers’ skills
Ruby Bhogal, Rahul Mandal and Kim-Joy are the three contestants battling to win the show this year.
The trio will be kept on their toes after being asked for the first time in the show’s history to bake outside of the famous tent.
But first they will have to bake doughnuts in the signature challenge with tricky decorations.
The final task of the series is an intricate, multi-layered, edible landscape showstopper.
Paul also revealed some of the contestants gave him letters when they were kicked off the show.
He said: “When they’ve left, they’ve written me a letter – a complimentary letter because when we’re critiquing their bakes, it’s never destructive criticism.” ■ The Great British Bake Off is on Channel 4 tomorrow at 8pm.
