AKE’S LONG FOR EUROPE

- BY ADRIAN KAJUMBA

NATHAN AKE insists it is too early to think about Bournemouth going on a European tour.

That’s what the delirious travelling fans chanted as the Cherries stormed to an emphatic win at Fulham.

Defender Ake (below) laughed: “It is too early. Everyone knows that.

“The points we have and the games we have played are good but we can’t get ahead of ourselves.”

Bournemouth are giving the top six an unusual look, sitting pretty in the final spot – and keeping their next league opponents Manchester United out of it.

Ake said: “We are higher than them but they are still a top, top team so it will be tough. “But we are full of confidence, playing at home. We go to win.” United, along with Tottenham and Manchester City, are eyeing impressive centre-back Ake but he said: “If something is true it is praise for yourself that you are doing something right but I must just keep doing the same, trying to play well for Bournemouth and see what happens. “I am just enjoying my time at Bournemouth. It is so good. “I’m playing, the manager is helping me a lot and the fans are good, always behind us so, no, they don’t need to be worried.”
