JURGEN KLOPP insists jealousy is not something that exists in the Liverpool dressing room.
The Kop boss said his players don’t see a new arrival as a threat to their place in the team; instead they welcome it if it raises standards. Klopp described how the Reds longer-serving stars deal with the arrival of new faces at Anfield. It was just after Fabinho and Xherdan Shaqiri had played key roles in the four-goal drubbing of strugglers Cardiff that sent the Reds top of the table.
With skipper Jordan Henderson out injured and Adam Lallana battling to find his form, some would think they would be worried the summer signings are now grabbing the headlines.
But Klopp said: “They are not jealous at all. And everybody who comes in thinks ‘wow, it so much better than what we had before.’
“How can anyone forget Gini Wijnaldum? It is impossible.
“For the team it (jealousy) will not happen. It is really no problem. For the boys it should only be important what I think. They like it when new players come in. We brought them in to make us better in specific situations. Now we have more choices, that is the mos important thing.”
And Klopp said he and his player are good at ignoring newspape sepculation.
“Mo had a fantastic run last year bu this year it starts with people askin why he is not scoring,” he said. “Tha is our life – ignoring useless news. I am pretty good at it.”
