PHIL PARKINSON insists he is not feeling the heat at Bolton – despite chairman Ken Anderson threatening changes if results fail to improve.

Fraizer Campbell (above) hit the winner after seven minutes to condemn Bolton to their fourth loss in five games and leave the Trotters boss hanging by a thread.

But Parkinson, who led the club out of League One in his first season and kept them in the Championship against the odds last season, refuses to respond.

“We are already under pressure,” he said. “We are playing with limited resources against some very good teams. We are under severe pressure every time we get out on the pitch.

“We stuck together through the last two years and enjoyed some good times. It’s the only way a team like Bolton will survive.

“A lot of people say I should come out and defend myself more. But I always try to keep my own counsel. That’s the way I have always been and that’s the way I will continue to be.”

Campbell ended Hull’s winless run of seven games and was only their second victory on the road this season.

And the striker reckons this could be the boost the players need to kick-start their season.

He said: “It is a massive relief to get the three points when you are not doing too well in the league and you are getting bad result after bad result.

“It feels like a weight lifted off our shoulders. You go in the changing room now and everyone is happy, the music is playing and hopefully we can take that confidence into the next game.”
