Top cop faces 21 sex pest allegations
HEARING Det Insp Hurwood A TOP policeman abused his rank to pester 21 of his female staff for sex, explicit photos and details of their underwear, a disciplinary hearing was told yesterday.
Det Insp Simon Hurwood, 53, deputy head of professional standards at Cleveland Police, allegedly sent one woman 2,500 emails and used his rank to pressure staff into sex.
Witness A said Hurwood asked her at work what she liked in bed and what colour her knickers were.
Witness D said he pressured her to have an affair, and Witness H said he got her to send explicit photos.
Hurwood, who retired last month, faces no criminal action and denies misconduct in every case.
The panel will consider evidence later this week.
