Bosses jailed for £13million oil firm scam

GREED Ullah & Shahenshah TWO oil barons earning more than £10millon a year between them, pocketed £13million by scamming their firm.

Osman Shahenshah, 56, ex-CEO of Afren Plc and Shahid Ullah, 59, ex-head of operations, siphoned off the cash from a deal with Afren’s African partners.

Shahenshah was jailed for six years, Ullah for five.

They spent most of the money on Caribbean mansions, Southwark crown court heard.

The FTSE-250 firm collapsed when the fraud came to light in July 2015.

Judge Michael Gledhill QC told Shahenshah, of Earls Court Square, West London, and Ullah of Woodlands, Texas: “Why would highly paid executives commit fraud?
