‘Failings led to mum’s death’

WARNING signs were ignored before a mentallyil­l woman fatally knifed a stranger, an inquest heard.

Nicola Edgington, then 31, who had stabbed her mum to death, killed Sally Hodkin, 58, in Bexleyheat­h, South London, in 2011.

She was not recalled to hospital despite allegedly smoking skunk, not sleeping and believing she had a miscarriag­e.

Sally’s son Len said “risk factors” were not acted on. The hearing in Croydon, South London, continues.
