We lead way on charity aid

BRITONS rank second in Europe and sixth in the world for aiding charities.

Our generosity is topped by Ireland, and our global placing has surged from 11th last year.

The Charities Aid Foundation found 70% of us donated cash last year, up from 60% the year before.

Indonesia topped the table, followed by Australia and New Zealand.

CAF chief John Low said: “It is humbling to see how people continue to be moved to help others.”
