Police ‘sorry’ for mocking Diane Abbott

ATTACKED Diane Abbott POLICE bosses apologised to Shadow Home Secretary Diane Abbott yesterday after officers mocked her on a force’s Twitter feed.

Thames Valley road police had retweeted a quip by ex-Met Police officer Norman Brennan, which criticised the Labour MP for her stance on stop and search powers.

DCS Gilbert Houalla said the post had been deleted and the force did not “endorse the tweet”.

He said: “We have apologised for any offence this may have caused.”
