STEVE PEARCE slammed a pair of home runs and David Price pitched seven superb innings, as the Boston Red Sox won their fourth World Series title in 15 years.

The Red Sox beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-1 in Game Five of the best-ofseven series, claiming a 4-1 series triumph.

Pearce, named World Series MVP, gave Boston a 2-0 lead they would never relinquish with a two-run blast in the first and added a solo shot in the eighth.
