- BY ASHLEIGH RAINBIRD Diary Editor

RELAXED Cliff Richard SIR Cliff Richard is back to his best after “four years of murderous life” battling the BBC, he has declared.

Singer Cliff, 78, said he had finally “got rid of a painful side of my life” after winning £210,000 damages over the BBC’s coverage of a police raid on his home.

At the Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards, he said: “I’ve just relaxed. I’m back to how I was.”

Police raided his Berkshire home in 2014 amid claims of historical sex abuse, which he was never arrested or charged over.

He now wants people investigated over such serious allegations to be anonymous until charged.

Sir Cliff said: “There is a whole army of people who have been accused who are innocent.”
