Norton earns £5m on top of BBC cash

- BY TOM BRYANT Head of Showbiz

GRAHAM Norton’s latest accounts show earnings of £5.2million, dwarfing his Radio 2 salary.

The chat show host, 55, has a salary between £600,000 and £609,999, the BBC revealed in July.

But he was paid almost nine times his Beeb cash as a director of SO Television, makers of BBC1’s The Graham Norton Show.

His pay doubled from £2.6million the previous year to nearly £5.2million for “presenter fees, production fees and royalties”.

In part it is due to figures covering 17 months, not 12, but even adjusted, he is ahead of Gary Lineker and Chris Evans at the top of the BBC’s earners’ list.

Norton has condemned celebs who avoid paying tax, saying: “It’s just stupid and very short-sighted.”
