2yr wait for abuse probe on Lambeth
VICTIMS of the Lambeth child sex abuse scandal will have to wait until 2020 to give their evidence at a pubic inquiry.
Hundreds of children in the care of Lambeth council in South London are feared to have suffered at the hands of paedophiles over four decades.
The Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse considered the final remit for the Lambeth part of the inquiry yesterday.
It will examine allegations of “corruption, intimidation and cover-ups”, amid claims that police probes were hampered.
Rachel Langdale, QC, said oral hearings would take place after April 2020.
