Police dig up patio in hunt for Suzy body

POLICE probing Suzy Lamplugh’s murder have dug up a patio where the mother of prime suspect John Cannan used to live.

A Scotland Yard forensics team have been at the semi since Monday.

Estate agent Suzy, 25, who lived in London, vanished in 1986. In 1994 she was declared dead, presumed murdered.

The house in Sutton Coldfield, West Mids, was searched in 2003 and 2004.

But Det Supt Jim Dickie said that at the time: “We had no evidence or intelligence to lead us to believe Cannan may have secreted Suzy’s body there.”

Cannan, 64, is currently in jail for rape and murder.
