‘Jihadi Jack’ dad appeals to Canada

-

APPEAL Mr Letts and son THE father of “Jihadi Jack” is appealing for Canada to help free his son.

Jack Letts, 23, went to Syria in 2014 after converting to Islam and was alleged to have joined Islamic State.

The British and Canadian dual citizen is now in jail in Kurdish-held territory. His dad John Letts, from Oxford, said in Canada before a meeting with government officials: “Jack worked in the religious opposition to ISIS in Raqqa. He condemned ISIS on social media. I think he’s innocent.”

Farmer Mr Letts and partner Sally Lane await trial in the UK accused of funding terrorism.
