mainly kept by Olive’s sister and Kate’s great-great-aunt Anne, who died in 1967 – after Kate personally requested to see them.
He said: “There were about 160 documents related to the family, so we picked the key ones which told the story. I think she was moved to see them. It makes a huge difference to see them and handle them.
“To think this telegram she has in her hands was on her great-greatgrandfather’s desk, handled by him, and he might have been crying, and it’s been handed down throughout the years – that’s really emotional.” Hannah Sergel FIRST MEETING Meg and her online pal THE Duchess of Sussex was overjoyed to meet a young woman who had confided in her over mental health struggles.
Meghan was in disbelief at first, when she spotted Hannah Sergel, 20, with a sign saying: “I’m Hannah from Instagram.”
The pair used to message each other on the site before the Duchess shut her account, after her engagement to Harry.
Meghan had previously sent Hannah a video and messages encouraging her to be herself and work hard at university.
Hannah, who talks about her battle with mental health on Instagram, was in tears of joy when the
Duchess recognised her in Auckland, New
Zealand, on Tuesday.
Meghan exclaimed
“oh my God” and rushed over to talk.
She gave the student a warm hug and accepted letter from her. It was the first time they had met.
Hannah said Meghan’s reaction “meant the world” after the touching encounter, adding: “I was friends with her on Instagram. We used to have conversations on there.”
Yesterday the royal couple watched a Maori war dance in Rotorua on the final day of their 16-day South Pacific tour.
The Duchess wore a Givenchy skirt which some commentators said was see-through – but it was believed to be an optical illusion.
Meghan also hugged Catalina Rivera, aged two, who slipped through the railings.
