Icy night for cliff climbers
TWO climbers spent a night under a freezing cliff after somebody hoisted up their guide rope without realising they were there.
The men, aged in their early 30s, had used the cord, left by a climber, to abseil down the 170ft cliff near Swanage, Dorset.
With light fading and no phone signal they slept in a crevice. Next morning they climbed back up.
Swanage Coastguard, alerted by their families, met them at the top.
A spokesman said: “They were cold but well.”
