SHEFFIELD United fan Frank Coulson scores a goal for his beloved club, fulfilling a lifelong ambition at age 90.

The dementia sufferer, joined on the pitch by daughter Jennifer, was cheered by home fans as he netted the ball in front of 25,000 people at Bramall Lane.

Frank’s dream of playing for his boyhood club became a reality thanks to a make-a-wish scheme at his care home. He walked out at half-time with Blades legend Tony Currie, before watching the rest of Saturday’s 4-2 victory over Wigan Athletic from the director’s box.

Sheffield United’s Dave McCarthy said: “We’re made up that he had the time of his life. Fans were amazing, too, giving one of their own a lovely reception.”
