I was interested in the letter from the woman who’s desperate for a family, but has been told by doctors that a pregnancy could kill her (Dear Coleen, Oct 29).
I would urge her to consider adoption. My husband and I decided not to have our own child because there would be a high risk of them being born with a serious genetic condition, and we adopted siblings five years ago. It’s been very challenging at times because children in care have had a traumatic start in life, but we love our kids beyond measure. They are ours and we can’t imagine life without them. Good luck to your reader.
