Rise in attacks on firefighters

FIREFIGHTERS face more attacks while on 999 calls, their union says.

The Fire Brigades Union said there were 933 attacks in England, up by 194 from the previous year.

South Yorkshire Fire boss Tony Carlin said: “Attacks like this place the safety of our firefighters, and the people they are trying to protect, at risk.”
