13 killed in bus plunge after attacked driver loses control

-

A BUS swerved as it crossed a bridge, then hit an oncoming car before ploughing through railings and plunging over the side.

All 13 on board died after it fell 164ft into China’s Yangtze River.

Film recovered from the wreck shows the driver lose control after a passenger began yelling and hitting him with her mobile phone. Police said the woman, believed to be 48 and named Liu, attacked when he missed her stop and wouldn’t let her off. Screams from passengers can be heard clearly in the footage.

The bus crashed on Sunday in Chongqing and was finally lifted out of the water on Wednesday.

Only bodies were recovered during the rescue mission.
