Cruel horse trader jailed

A HORSE trader who kept more than 30 diseased and half-starved animals in conditions so bad one died giving birth and two were put down has been jailed.

John Michael Humphrey admitted neglect and causing suffering. The 32-year-old, of Thorpe Willoughby, North Yorks got 17 weeks and a life ban on keeping animals.
