Stoned driver crippled OAP

A STONED driver who left a pensioner paralysed after ploughing into him has been jailed for three years.

Jake Smith was racing home to stop his Chinese takeaway going cold when he hit Wilfred Walker, 70.

The victim, of Great Harwood, Lancs, told Preston crown court: “My life has changed beyond recognition. I cannot forgive or forget.”

Smith, 22, of Rishton, admitted causing injury by dangerous driving and driving while on cannabis.
