Boyz won’t enter the nostalgia zone

-

He’s been busy performing on stage with singers B*Witched, 5ive, Peter Andre and other acts on a 90s reunion tour.

But Keith Duffy, who has set up Boyzlife with Brian McFadden, says you would never catch Boyzone going down that path.

“I’m doing that with Brian which is fine but I would hate to think of us having to do it as a band,” he huffs.

“We have earned our stripes and I would never want to see us going back like that.

“I take my hat off to the other bands

doing it because they are out there grafting and trying to pay the bills and make money.”

Don’t think anyone will be queuing to buy him a drink after that. Anyway, Keith is back in Boyzone for the band’s 25th-anniversary celebrations later this month.

“We want to go out on top, with a bit of respect and dignity, and not dilute it,” says Keith, 44.

The Dublin-born father-of-two added: “We started off playing in nightclubs and tiny venues and have built up to huge arenas.

“You can milk it too much and squeeze the life out of it and you can then start struggling.

“None of us want to harm the legacy. We all wanted to go out on top.”

Keith and Brian have been performing all their big old hits, such as Love Me For A Reason, to punters on the nationwide tour.
