The Beatles are pictured reading a copy of the Sunday Mirror ahead of their concert at the Leeds Odeon as part of their autumn tour. The Mirror had coined the phrase ‘Beatlemani­a’ the previous day with our headline, “Beatlemani­a! It’s happening everywhere...”. The popularity of the Fab Four started growing in 1963 and by the end of the year had reached dizzying heights with screaming, hysterical female fans following the group’s every move.
