Mao to wow at book sale

A RARE Mao Tse-Tung autograph is expected to fetch more than £200,000 at auction this month.

The signed copy of Mao’s book, The New Democracy, was given to ReneCharles d’Anjou in 1942 as he fled invading Japanese troops in China.

It is now owned by an English collector.

Bill Panagopulos, of Alexander Historical Auctions, Maryland, USA where the book is to be sold, describes the item as “impossibly rare”. AT RISK Vulnerable lad
