Unis ‘failing the hard-up’
UNIVERSITIES must work harder to attract disadvantaged students and give value for money, MPs say.
A report by the all-party Education Committee out today asks “whether our higher education system is fit for the 21st century”.
Shadow Education Secretary Angela Rayner said the Tories have “shut out” many learners by trebling fees and scrapping vital maintenance grants.
The report also calls for curbs on “unjustifiably” high pay for uni bosses.
